XP is so much friendlier and its the longest run of trouble free windows I ever had, too bad they dropped the ball on this one. I've had optical drives fail after six months. Someone should take Microsoft to court for this, as this has probably cost MILLIONS to all the users trying to solve this by replacing their burner, media & even PCs. What exactly was the burner you bought.

It played an old Family Values Tour CD .It will play a commercially recorded CD. This has been happening with all my discs and Ive inserted them into other computers and they work fine.
