A CCM membership gives you access to additional options. next time you boot your computer, the DVD reader will seek the correct centre ring on the DVD, and will then read it properly. You scratch that lense you are buying a whole new DVD drive.
It was just cheap ($10). The drive uses a separate laser with a different wavelength for CD's. Can you read these problem-free on the first machine with the mysterious CD/DVD drive problem? It doesn't recognize it even after u put one in and PC told u too. I would also contact Dell, but if it's out of the warranty, they might charge you to take a look. DVD FormatDVDs aren’t universal; what plays in the US won’t play everywhere else in the world.
Normally the above will fix that issue if not work your way down through these even if you have done them before. It happened to me on a different computer to be able to write but not to read depending on the media I used, while another computer with another type of drive Never, never, never install InCD. If your M/B doesn't have SATA ports you can use a bridge board to convert an IDE port, then you can get a new SATA burner (they're dirt cheap).
