I have tried the firmware update, and that is not working either.The only thing that still has me confused is that it will still burn DVDs, and will read them before I didn't make any changes to my hardware. Since then, my NEC ND-4570A doesn't read DVD-Rs I created years ago. You could do that first if you're reluctant to delete the filter and probably have to re-install something.
